Three poems... Or riddles... Or both?

Greetings strong friends,

In this post I want to share three poems from a collection that I'm currently working on. It's a colection of poems that works as riddles with ending rhymes. The poems are about random objects, but most of them you'll find in big offices. Please take a guess at want to you the poems are about, but most importantly I hope that you enjoy the poems and they give just a little food for thought.

I will try to post once a week with more content and share a little more of my work. Please enjoy. :)

Pocket Prison

I carry tiny folks inside,
With faces smug and eyes so wide,
They never talk but love to stay,
Until I give them all away.

I snap my jaws to keep them tight,
But still, they vanish overnight,
They run to coffee, food, and fun,
And poof! By noon, they're nearly done.

I’m thinner when I’ve done my chore,
But somehow, life just wants me more,
They fill me up, I shed a tear,
And lose them all again next year.

Shaky Little Winter Trap

I sit upon your dusty shelf,
A frozen world, all by myself,
With tiny homes and plastic trees,
And flakes that fall with just a squeeze.

You shake me when you’re feeling bored,
My blizzards cannot be ignored,
I spin and swirl like stormy skies,
Then settle down before your eyes.

I’m trapped behind this crystal wall,
Yet every time you make it fall,
The winter rages, white and wide,
And I just snowstorm from inside.

Liquid Therapy

Each morning starts with my embrace,
You grab me like I’m second base.
I hold the potion dark and bold,
That makes your brain feel slightly gold.

I’ve kissed your lips more than your ex,
Survived three falls and microwave techs.
I'm clutched in class and work debates,
A loyal friend through awkward states.

I’ve seen you cry, I’ve heard you curse,
I’ve tasted stuff that’s somehow worse.
Still, every day you seek my grace,
Your chaos slows when I’m in place.

Like I said, feel free to take a guess. Riddles are fun and even better when they rhyme.

Thank you for visiting.

Much appreciated and best regards,

Kasper F. Christiansen
